Jessica Gorlin-Liddell: Glass Fused Tile Installation








Who: 4th graders at Bear Tavern

What: 4th graders will learn to nip colored glass and arrange their pieces on to a clear glass tile following the designs of shapes and lines they create. 
Each tile will be fused in the kiln and then arranged to create a permanent glass window installation at Bear Tavern to be admired for years to come.
Students will meet and work with Mrs. Gorlin-Liddell during art class. She is a Professional artist specializing in ceramics, murals and glass fusing. She works with numerous schools each year to create permanent school installations. She also teaches classes in her Philadelphia studio for children and adults.

When: During scheduled art class January 10, 12 and 13, 2012
Where: Bear Tavern Art Room
How: Thanks to parents who supported the Square 1 Art fundraiser in Fall 2011, we raised enough money to have this wonderful opportunity.

Will "Kasso" Condry: Mural Painting Live



Who: ALL 1 - 5 graders at Bear Tavern
in addition, two students per grade level will be selected to discuss designs and learn about how Mr. Condry develops a skeleton for his designs and builds into his designs.

What: Will "Kasso" Condry will be painting a mural in the art room while students are able to watch in awe as a professional mural artist creates a graffiti inspired masterpiece
Will Condry has painted murals across NJ, PA and NY with the majority of his murals being in Trenton, NJ where he grew up. Mr. Condry has worked with his crew of muralists named S.A.G.E Collective, in Hopewell, NJ during the Hopewell Tour des Arts. They were commissioned to paint the side of a barn turned artist studios on the Highland Design Farm. They painted another private commission in 2010 as well.
When: During scheduled art classes Dec. 12-16, 2011

Note: While students watch Mr. Condry paint, they will be working on collaborative circle paintings at the tables in the art room. Working together, students will work to design earthy, clothe-like paintings roughly 3' x 8'ft long. The paintings will be displayed at Bear Tavern when a location has been determined.
