Chinese New Year Art Events at GFS

I am Grounds for Sculpture (GFS) two weekends per month teaching my Tots classes and sporadic drop-in workshops so I rarely ever visit the grounds on an "off" weekend.
However, this weekend on January 14 and 15, GFS is hosting a few noteworthy events that I am definitely going to attend!
On Saturday the 14th, at 11am and noon, there is a demonstration and workshop on cutting paper Chinese style by an incredible artist named Hou-Tien Cheng.
I cannot wait to see this demonstration. Mr. Cheng cuts amazing images from paper without sketches or any guidelines...he just starts cutting away. Below are some of his paper cut designs that are on exhibit in the Education Center at GFS.

Free form cutting, no sketches or guidelines...wow

The Paper cutting workshop is $15 for members and $20 for non-members

There will also be a demonstration on Chinese calligraphy going on from 1-4pm and then on Sunday a Chinese dance company named Nai-Ni Chen will be performing.
